The Pledge
Donate 50% of what you make every year after a certain point at which you no longer need more money to live comfortably.
The Why
You do it for yourself. Because it is the right thing to do. Because it adds meaning to your life. Because if you were a beneficiary, you'd want someone like you to do it. Because suffering is an intrinsic part of life and the purpose of life is to alleviate unnecessary suffering. Because if you don't do it now, you'll probably never do it.
The Rules
At the end of each year, 50% of the money that you take in above a specific amount (after taking into account inflation) will be divided up into 12 monthly payments for the following year to donate.
